What does it take to become a Member of our Kiwanis Club?

Qualifications for membership in the Kiwanis Club of the Rampart Range, Colorado Springs:

1) An active member must believe in and subscribe to the Objects of Kiwanis International.
2) An active member must be of good character and community standing, and reside in or have other community interests within the area of our club - particularly northern Colorado Springs.
3) Our club's membership should also represent the broadest possible cross section of occupations and age groups within our community.
4) An active member must pay a membership induction fee and annual membership dues, and shall therefore be entitled to all privileges of club membership.
5) Members have the duty to attend as many weekly meetings as possible, participate in service projects and other activities, pay club financial obligations, wear the Kiwanis emblem, be appointed to committees, be elected as officers and directors, and attend Kiwanis conferences and conventions.
6) Kiwanis welcomes all men and women who are 18 years of age or more, regardless of physical condition and ethnic, political or religious background, who otherwise meet the above requirements, and who express an interest in helping us to enhance the impact and scope of our service projects.  In return, Kiwanis offers an opportunity for its member's to enhance their personal fellowship with a wide range of people throughout the community, and to develop and to hone each person's leadership skills through practice in service.   Professionally developed training programs are available to Kiwanis leaders as they prepare to take on the responsibilities of an elected office or a committee chair position.
7) Important Policy Note: A Kiwanis-family club shall not solicit new members through its Web site, but it may invite persons interested in learning more about the club to attend a meeting or to receive more information about the club. Only when a member is ready to stand as a sponsor may a person be considered for membership.
